Literacy (« Alpha»)

Literacy is acquiring the basic knowledge and skills required for reading and writing. This acquisition is essential for someone who wishes to be integrated in society, find a job and become independent. This is why Marhaban is committed to fighting illiteracy and offers such a course.

French as a Foreign Language and Integration Language (« FLE/FLI »)

Teaching French to non-French speaking adults is done in a particular way. The approach focuses on the needs of those who have recently arrived in France. The reason for working in this way is to help these adults to carry out administrative tasks, find a job, understand local customs and way of life, understand civic rights and duties…

French as a Foreign Language lessons :

  • Mondays 9h15-11h15 and 14h-16h
  • Thursdays 9h15-11h15 and 14h-16h

« Newcomers » lessons :

  • Mondays 16h30–18h
  • Thursdays 16h30–18h

DILF preparation :

Adult English classes

The lessons are open to all and given by native-English speakers. They include beginner, intermediate and advanced classes… for those who wish to improve their English for travel or work purposes. The classes are small and ideal for conversation.

Atelier couture

« Open House », counselling and guidance

Sewing workshops, women’s groups, handicraft workshops and friendly times whilst having a cup of coffee. Marhaban offers moral support to people in difficulty : exclusion, financial insecurity, social precariousness, isolated women.

  • Wednesdays 9h-12h

Chaplaincy

Bible study, English lessons based on biblical passages.
